Help! I need a Reiki logo

By Justin Peach | Reiki guides

You know you need a good logo for your Reiki business but how do people do that?

Do I need a designer? Should I try and make it myself? How much will it cost?

Over the years I needed a good logo for my business or for the business where I worked. At different times I have made them myself in Photoshop, I have hired  a graphic designer to create one or I purchased an existing template online and adapted it for my purposes. All of these options can be the a good solution depending on your budget, designing skills and time available.

The first thing I would advise is just to get an idea of the kind of logo you would like. Colour scheme, text and general layout.

Here's a great way to do that: Use the webisite Designmantic to get some quick ideas.

Step 1. Go to

Step 2. Enter your desired logo name and choose and industry

You can choose the Industry Religion & Spirituality (although other industries will also give you some good options).

Step 3. Enter your desired logo name and choose and industry

The website will then automatically generate a large number of options. Choose the one you like an adapt it as you see fit. You can change the font, colours and make other alterations.

While I was playing around I created these four logos:

Step 4. Purchase and download. Now you might have hit the sweet spot already so you can choose to pay $37 and make your creation your own.

Alternatively you can pick the design you like the best and use this as a starting point for a designer to work with. But don't panic, this doesn't have to cost a fortune. In fact it could cost no more than $5.

Get a logo through a designer on Fiverr.  Go to Fiverr's logo category

Fiverr is an Aladdin's cave of design talent. And a basic Gig on Fiverr costs as the name suggests only five dollars.
So you can take the logo that you have created and ask a designer to make the changes you want.

Or you can choose the style that someone is offering and go with that.

Tips when using Fiverr are:

  • Check out previous buyer reviews when choosing a provider.
  • Be specific and clear. Provide desired sizes and check spelling.
  • It can be worth spending a bit more to get a number of revisions for your logo.

Here's a pretty unique way to get a logo if you have a bit more budget.
Get 30 different logo's from professional designers in the form of a competition.

Create a design contest. 99designs launches your design contest for your logo in their marketplace for their community of more than 1,132,000 designers to see. From Berlin to Bombay, professional creatives will read your brief and begin to brainstorm ideas just for you.

Pick the winner. After 7 days, it’s time to pick the winner and sign the copyright agreement. 99designs transfers the prize money to the designer. You download your new design and use it however you like.

Prices start at $299. Go to 99designs

How to get your Reiki site listed on Google Maps

By helpinghealers42 | Reiki guides

Setting up and optimizing your Google Maps listing, in my experience, is the number one thing that all Reiki Practitioners should do. When optimized correctly your Google Maps listing can cause your practice to be seen by thousands of people every month.

What makes Google Maps so powerful is the fact they feature reviews on your listing. It is essentially word of mouth advertising online, which is how most Reiki Practitioners secure their new clients. Yet it being online makes it far more scalable then traditional word of mouth advertising can be. So what is Google Maps? Well it is a website ( that allows people to search for local businesses. Not only that, but it is an app that a huge majority of people use on their phones. Google Maps was the most used application on smartphones last month, with over 50% of everyone owning smartphones using it at least once last month. Not only that, but 70% of people aged 35-55 say they use Google Maps to find local services. Even more powerful is that 70% of those reported that they trust online reviews as much as their friend referring a service to them in person.

Google Maps is perfect for Reiki Practitioners because it allows you to use the power of word of mouth advertising online to reach your exact target market. There is no other marketing technique I have come across that is free to set up and only requires a one time investment which will continuously drive new clients to you year after year.

So what experiences have I had that have convinced me of how powerful Google Maps is? Within the first 3 months of optimizing my first clients Google Maps he was receiving so many new patients that he was booked out for weeks. He ended up needing to bring in another Message Therapist into his office so he could see all the new patients. Fast forward years later when I created and optimized a nutritionist’s Google Maps. At the time she was renting out a space in a wellness center. Six months later her business had grown so much she was able to buy out the rest of her contract and bought her own wellness center. She has other healers renting space from her now and has a full kitchen so she can teach nutrition classes.

Reiki has helped me so much in my life that I decided to put together this compressive guide on how to get listed.

Video 1: Setting up google maps:

Video 2: Setting up google voice (US only):

Video 3: Inside the dashboard:

Congratulations! You are now listed on one of the most powerful tools for driving new clients to you. However, in order to really see new clients lining up for your services you will need optimize your Google Maps listing. It’s a bit more information than I can cover in a blog, but I want to cover a few of the basics.

1. Upload 5-10 photos onto your listing. This both helps your ranking and helps convert people who view your listing into new customers.

2. Pick good categories (you can pick up to 10) and use those categories in your introduction as keywords. This will make it so you show up for more search terms and you will show up higher up on the rankings.

3. Make sure have at least 5 reviews. Why 5? Well your star rating won’t show up on Google unless you have 5 reviews. Having a 4-5 star rating on Google Maps makes a massive difference in how many people both click on your listing and how many people will make an appointment with you.

4. Citations! Citations are the #1 factor Google looks at in terms of where you are ranking on Google Maps. Why do rankings matter? Well the higher the ranking the more views you get, the more views you get the more customers you will bring in. So what are Citations? Well they are other websites your business address is listed on other then Google Maps. Places like your local chamber of commerce, your website and other local listing websites. There are hundreds and hundreds of places you can get citations from yet there are a few that are VERY Important to get listed on. Now these are a trade secret, I have spent 100s of hours collecting my massive list of citation sources and I have never given any of them away before, however, I am so passionate about giving back to the Reiki Community because of how much you helped me during my time of serious health issues. So below are 5 of the best citation sources for you to be on.

Top Places to get listed for Citations: Please note that most of these places require verification because they are very high-end listings. Verification is often done by the phone, they will call you or send you a text message with a code you will need to ender into the website. These listing will take each 10-15 minutes to set up. However, the most time consuming aspect of getting listed on each of these sites is actually finding where you need to go to sign up. That is why I have provided the direct URL below on where to go to get listed on each of the sites below.

1. Yelp (International)

2. Manta (US)

3. AngiesList (US)

4. (US)

5. Expressupdate (US)

6. Cylex (UK)

7. Freeindex (UK)

For listing sites in other countries check out these great links: Australia, New Zealand, Germany, Canada.

Congratulations! While certainly not fully optimized if you completed the above citations you will start getting hits and driving new traffic to your business. The whole process + the citations + reviews will take most of you 2-3 hours to complete. This is nothing compared to the long-term benefits of having a listing will bring to you.

To all the Reiki Practitioners reading this, I want to truly thank you from the bottom of my heart. You have made a major impact on my life. I hope that I can return the favour and help you find success in whatever you are doing. I would love to hear from you! Feel free to email me at for any questions for feedback - Isaac.

Get more Reiki clients

By Justin Peach | Reiki guides

This training is full of simple and practical advise taken from many years of marketing and promoting Reiki services. Putting these techniques into practice will get you more clients.

  • Introduction
  • A New Reiki Marketing Strategy
  • Getting clients through Voucher Placement
  • How to get clients from a spiritual market
  • Understanding Websites & Landing Pages
  • The importance of message continuity
  • Reiki website examples (the good, the bad and the ugly)

Introduction start here.

A New Reiki Marketing Strategy: Rethinking how we market our Reiki services.

Voucher placement

+ Free downloads

Here's proven way to get new clients. It's an approach which I have used before to get referral clients in the beauty market and it works well.

To give you an extra boost we have created a Reiki voucher for you to use with this technique. You can download the PSD file and you are free to personalize it as much as you like.

You are going to partner with businesses who are in a similar market to Reiki. For example (but not limited to):

  • Beauticians
  • Massage therapists
  • Hair stylists
  • Acupuncturists

Get Instant Access

Get access to the Voucher Placement training and download a ready to go Reiki Voucher.

Your goal is to be able to place a discount voucher for a Reiki treatment with the business. You ask the owner of the business to recommend a Reiki treatment and give your voucher to their clients.

For every referral you agree to pay the business a fixed amount. I would make it an attractive amount for example 70% of the treatment price. Remember you do not need to make much profit on the first treatment but you need to get new customers in the door.

You really need the owner or manager to actively recommend your Reiki treatments. It's not enough just to have some vouchers lying around in their office gathering dust. To create an enthusiastic partner who will actively tell people about you, give the business owner a free treatment. Then if they liked it ask them to give the voucher to people who they feel will benefit the most from a treatment. Most people love a Reiki treatment and if its the first time they have had one it's often a memorable experience that they are more than happy to talk about.

Make sure that you have a good administration system in place so when you get voucher in from a business you know which business partner it comes from. Record the name of the person redeeming the voucher and the date. Agree how often you will make payments. Send a clear monthly overview to your partners.

Get the Reiki voucher here. You can download the PSD file and you are free to personalize it as much as you like. Your local printer or copy shop will be able to print it out for you.

Getting clients from a spiritual market

A spiritual show or market is a great place to get new clients. You will meet people who are open and interested so you will have plenty of opportunity to talk about and demonstrate Reiki.

Again the best strategy is not to worry about giving lots of treatments during the day. Your focus should be on getting leads and getting new clients to come to your practice. A spiritual or new age market can be a tiring and draining place so use your time and energy well.

Using discount vouchers: Make a voucher with an attractive discount which people can purchase during the show. For example, a treatment for an hour with 75% discount. When a new client makes a purchase this during the show they will usually follow up. To encourage them to do so, make an appointment with them at the moment or purchase. If you can't do that make sure the voucher expiry duration is kept short. You can adapt the above discount voucher to use.

Hold a prize draw. This will get you email signups. Give people the chance to win something. You can offer a free treatment or something physical like a  crystal (you can probably get a good deal at the show). Have a signup form where people will leave their name and email address. After the show follow up within a week. Announce the winner - but make a special offer as well, something attractive to get people in the door.

Get some help. If you can, bring one or two friends with you so if you are busy giving a short treatment someone is available to sell the vouchers and help people sign up for the prize draw.

Tips: If you are planning to go to shows more often you can get a roll up banner. Have a look on internet for companies who can deliver in your area. You can get a roll up banner for less than $50. This will make your stand look more professional.
See suppliers on Amazon.
Get a design for your banner for just $5 on Fiverr

Do your research. When deciding which shows and markets to go to speak with the organizer. Find out if the show has been given before, if so try and contact previous stand holders and ask them if the show was busy the last time and find out which position in the market is best and which to avoid.

Correct use of Websites and Landing Pages

Common Reiki Website Mistakes and understanding Landing Pages.

A good landing page follows a fairly simple template. If you apply these basic points when building you page you will see a big improvement in your conversions and sign ups.

Top elements of a landing page:

1 - Headline

3 - Information needed to take action

4- Testimonial

5/6 - CTA - Call to action

The landing page headline and advertisement wording should compliment each other. People don’t read as much as you think. In fact we scan, people need to understand clearly (and quickly) whats on offer.

Being one of the first things a visitor will read, the landing page headlines should but compel a visitor to take a closer look and draw them in. Addressing a specific point that is related to the content of the website will catch a reader's attention more than having a vague and non descript headline.

The body text should be phrased in terms of the needs and wants or your potential client. Texts needs to be flawless. Always double and triple check your copy, and have someone else read it through. In the example of an online retailer who is asking for visitors to purchase and provide personal and billing information, the trust of the customer could easily be damaged if there are spelling errors and sloppy grammar.

For an effective way of building trust, incorporate testimonials, reviews, press mentions, guarantee seals, and 3rd party trust and security certification. When the lens company ACLens began using VeriSign, they saw a 41% increase in conversions and a 58% increase in revenue per transaction. The same can happen with any online landing page.

The CTA is arguably the most important element on a page - it must be clearly visible and above the fold (people shouldn't need to scroll down before they see it). After a visitor reads the landing page headline, it is crucial that they know what to do next.

Identify the keywords that people who are interested in your service might be searching for and use words such as “free,” “new,”“buy,” or “download now.” A conversion button should stand out and be placed right below a call-to-action or have the call-to-action as the button.

It's fine to have menu links on your page if they are absolutely necessary but remember that your landing page is designed to get people to take action. Every link on your page is like a hole in a bucket. It's a chance for a visitor to leave your page without taking action.

People want to see a visual representation of the product or service you are offering. If you have a video you can show then that can be a better option. Keep it short though, preferably under 3 minutes. Make sure images relate clearly to your message.

The space a visitor sees without having to scroll down is the most important part of your landing page. Place the call-to-action button above the fold and in a location where the viewer's eye will scan to. Never have the button or form in a place where it has to be searched for.

Message continuity

Where have people come from right before they arrive at your landing page? Think about it - it is important. Have they come from a Facebook add.
A flyer. A blog post?

What question is in their mind? What is their state of mind?

Think about your landing page as the next step in a conversation. There must be continuity and congruence.

Otherwise arrive at your landing page feels like a miss-step and can be confusing.

For example is a vistitor has just come from a Facebook advert. What has she or he just read and responded to?

Website examples

This videos shows some of the common mistakes that are made on most Reiki websites.

7 Things You Must Give Up To Start Your Reiki Practice

By Justin Peach | Reiki guides

1. Give Up Your Need Of Other’s Approval
Often people in your close circles can feel threatened by your desire to grow and succeed and they may sound like they are giving you good advice when they point out what the sensible and “realistic” choices for you are. But Reiki teaches us to trust our intuition and follow the natural paths for growth in our lives. So when we feel that we need approval from those around us we have given them some of our personal power and must wait for their affirmation and approval before we can progress. You reclaim your personal power when you decide to captain your own ship and trust your gut instincts.

The more you accept yourself as you are (and we are all works in progress lets be real here folks) the less you will be dependent on external circumstance. So choose your friends wisely, spend time with those that support your positive visions, they may be critical – thats fine, good feedback keeps us sharp. But avoid those whose position is fundamentally cynical or negative and who make you pay a price for their approval.

So choose your friends wisely, spend time with those that support your positive visions.

2. Give Up Distinguishing Between Your Private And Work Life
I used to think that my life had different compartments. My family life, my sports, my work, my spiritual life and so on. Sometimes there was an overlap but I felt like I was playing different roles, often wondering who I should be in each of these different scenarios. Now I see that I can be one person in all of these areas, and that’s a breath of fresh air I can tell you, I no longer feel like an actor who has to play different parts hoping that people like my performance.

What you do in one area influences the other. I am sure you see the many ways in which your work is interconnected with other areas and vice versa. Learning and overcoming in one area helps you in another. Start to look for the overarching context, your highest guiding principle which informs all areas, that will help you see the way forward. If you do one thing that you think you ‘have’ to do or get through before you can spend time doing the thing you really love you are in conflict with what is and you will miss the bigger picture and be less able to respond to your intuition.

3. Give Up Your Reluctance To Ask For Help
Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. Identify your areas of expertise in which you excel and brings those to the marketplace but don’t try to be a ‘Jack of all trades’ because it will simply cost you too much time and what are you trying to prove anyway, and to who?  Also people often enjoy helping you out, don’t you sometimes give someone a Reiki treatment for free?.

4. Give Up Being Perfect Or Waiting for the Perfect Moment
Let’s nip this sucker in the bud right away. Things will never be perfect, if you are waiting for the heavens to open with angelic voices crying in unison “Now” then you are out of luck. You will never be perfect and things will never be perfect (whatever that actually is), but how about this, maybe you are good enough. Would that be okay with you? We are all works in progress working with the limitations we each have and the only time we have to do it is now.

5. Give Up Playing Small
“Who little ol‘ me?” Yes! Why not you? Don’t you have a right to get your Reiki practice going and be successful? Who knows where you can go with it and don’t underestimate what you can bring to others. Allow yourself to dream big. This of course goes hand in hand with giving up worrying about failure. You’re going to fail at some things, there I said it. But that’s how you learn isn’t it? Keep your eye on your big dreams and continue to steer towards them.

6. Give Up Other People’s Versions Of Success
Do you feel that you should be successful in ways others expect you to? It doesn’t have to be a big thing like your parents wanting you to be a doctor or lawyer but anything which doesn’t happen to be in line with your life’s purpose. Being successful in ways you think others expect before you embark on embodying your passion can cost you months or years of your very precious life. Remember living up to others version of success is unlikely to fulfill you and could even make you bitter . . just sayin’.

7. Give Up Your SOS  (Shiny Object Syndrome)
Whether it’s a new massage table, a new training or learning a new technique it’s easy to be distracted by getting new stuff. We think that as soon as we get ‘that thing’ or ‘this certification’ we will get going but the unfortunate reality is that you will still have to do the actual work yourself. So when you know that your next exciting Shiny Object is often more of a distraction than a cure then you have both feet on the ground.

5 Important Tips When Choosing Your Reiki Teacher

By Justin Peach | Reiki guides

So you’ve experienced the deep relaxation of a Reiki treatment and are considering becoming a student of this powerful healing practice. Maybe you’d like to provide ongoing support for a loved one, or yourself. Or perhaps your intuition has simply drawn you to this practice.

The choices are many and the variety of paths to Reiki can be baffling.

Where should you begin?

To narrow down the scope of possible teachers, once you’ve found out about or even met a Reiki teacher in person, look for the following:

1. Does the Reiki teacher walk the talk?

Find out if the teacher treats themselves with Reiki and if they apply other practices such as meditation, yoga or Chi Gong as part their own development. A good teacher knows that they themselves are a work in progress and strive to develop and explore the way forward.

2. How much experience does the Reiki teacher have?

The Reiki teacher should be transparent about how many years experience they have giving treatments and teaching. A solid background means they will be teaching from direct experience rather than simply passing along information.

3. Is there a framework to further your growth?

A good teacher will provide a clear path for students to deepen their practice, whether through Reiki sharing days, workshops and continuing support. You won’t be left hanging after your first course. Also important, the teacher will point to your own intuition when gauging the correct timing for a following course rather than stipulate standard periods, they know that a ‘one size fits all approach’ is not what Reiki is about.

4. Does the teacher express humility?

A true Reiki teachers is a humble example of the healing and developmental powers of Reiki. They probably won’t bring attention to the title of “Master” or put too much emphasis on their lineage as they are very conscious of whether or not they are living in accordance with their own highest potential. Their ego or image is the last thing on their mind.

5. Does this person use confusing jargon?

A good teacher will be able to speak about Reiki in clear and simple terms making it transparent and available to their students, free from any form of religious or spiritual dogma. Watch out for teachers who say that their form of Reiki is better or more powerful.

5 Ways You Can Reach Your Reiki Clients Right Now

By Justin Peach | Reiki guides

The days of leaving flyers and folders in the local organic store and hoping for the best is over. Your Reiki clients and future course participants are online and you need to make your presence felt.

Don’t worry if you aren’t too technical, there are many solutions out there which just need you to be able to point and click to get yourself promoted in a stylish and professional manner.

Here are some top tools and methods allowing you to tell people about yourself and your Reiki practice starting with the technically least challenging first:

1. Smore

Make drag and drop flyers that you can easily promote on Facebook, Twitter, Pintrest as well as Craigslist. Choose from existing templates with beautiful backgrounds. Paid plans give you the most options but you can do quite a bit with the free account

2. Meetup –

Meetup is a well established forum with more than 13 million members in nearly 200 countries. What’s great about this platform is that people can get together with other people who share their specific interest. I used Meetup with great success to tell people about meditation evenings I used to organise. You can promote courses, Reiki shares or info evening. Meetup is a paid service but if you live in a large town of city it can work really well.

3. Facebook group – more information

Similar to Meetup in that people can join very specific interest groups. Facebook groups are of course free and although it can take a while to build your members one of the advantages it offers is that more people will see your posts, in comparison a only a small amount of your Facebook Fanpage members will see your posts these days. The built-in event functionality works well allowing people to share and invite others. Tip: It can be useful to provide a link where people are directed to a webpage to register so you can be sure exactly who will be attending your event.

4. Google local listing – more information

If you have a website you should have a Google local listing. This is a really good way to be found by people who are searching for Reiki treatments or courses in their area. A huge advantage of a local listing is that you stand a big chance of getting listed on the first page of Google with your site. You will need to get your address verified by Google, after you sign up they will send you a post card and you can verify your business location. Tip: Make  sure you use a name that people will be searching for, for example: Vancouver Reiki Center (you can add the actual name of your business afterwards, for example – Vancouver Reiki Center the Dolphin) this should help you get listed higher up on the page. Check out the link above for more information about getting listed.

5. A Website

If you don’t yet have a website, what are you waiting for? It’s essential, you really can’t do without one. But don’t worry it can be simple and there are many ways to get something great looking published so that people can find out about you. Here are some options listed here in order of personal preference:

These platforms make creating a website a dream even if you have two left hands technically. You can be online within a couple of hours.
